I am receiving PM's from newly registered accounts that contain a link to another site, recommending some sort of anti-virus program.
Of course, I am not stupid enough to actually click on the link, and have blocked all of the senders: GooDFriend, MannInBlackk and trueLadyAdmin. The message from trueLadyAdmin was made to appear to be from Forum Administration. I've sent PM's to Administrator, but haven't received any response and I wanted to make sure that someone is aware of this issue, as it's getting to be quite annoying. Thanks for your help! -Cheryl |

I've gotten one from all three and I blocked them all. Not sure what else to do.

Well, I'm glad I started a thread...looks like I'm not alone.
Has anyone ever gotten a response from forum administrators when reporting a problem or concern? I'm not complaining (well, maybe a little (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ), and I don't want to harass the admins, but I would like an acknowledgement of my request, even if it's to say "So sorry, but there's nothing we can do". Just so I know I've been heard and not ignored, KWIM? I've sent three separate PM's, and no one has ever responded. -Cheryl |

I've gotten the same spam, over a period of several days, too. I reported to a moderator (OneFlattCookie) who responded, and to Kavi (JamesPadfoot) who has not yet. Thanks for putting this out here, Cheryl!

I'm getting the same thing from three different users: MannInBlackk, trueLadyAdmin, and SuperModer, all over the period of almost two weeks. Every time I tried clicking on their links (I know, I'm stupid! I shouldn't have done that) my computer just said there were problems loading the pages. All except the latest one from SuperModer, it started to load but I closed it before it could finish. I'm going to block all of them now. I'm so relieved a thread was started on this.

I've gotten one of these spam messages from ManInBlack or whatever his username is. I just deleted it right away. I hope it doesn't happen again, stupid spammers!

EEP. So so so so so so sorry you guys. I didn't realize they were being sent as DM's, which is why I was oblivious. Also, my apologies for not checking my messages.
In any case, in terms of solutions, I'll just brief you guys on what has been done: 1. Only a human being can apply for the membership. We've already set the security to the max. So it's probably either started by humans then bots, or is being done by a person. 2. ALL members who have 1 post or less has been deleted. No exceptions. 3. You need to have more than 20 posts to use the Direct Messages. I'd like to up it to 50 if the problem persists, but for now 20 is fairly attainable since you can use the offtopic/games forum to socialize. Also, I've set my notifications on, so PM me asap if you're still having problems. I need only the following information: 1. ID of person spamming you 2. Content |
