WhatsYourFiction.com is a place for all kinds of fiction and stories, whether original or fanfiction. We welcome all genre's, categories and any kind of submission that is the poster's own work.
________________________________________________________________________________ ______ BOARD RULES AND GUIDELINES GENERAL: 1. WYF accepts no responsibility for the actions of its members and all posted content are the responsibility of authors. 2. WYF clearly provides warnings for story ratings and you accept full responsiblity if you chose to view a thread that disqualifies your age bracket or sensibilities. 3. DO NOT DOUBLE POST. It clogs up the board, and annoys everyone. If you do, you better have a good reason for doing so. A really good reason. -By that same vein, do not spam. If you're posting, try to contribute to the discussion at hand. 4. If you have problems with another member, use the PRIVATE MESSAGING (PM) system. Do not take your grievances out on the boards. If both parties are incapable of resolving the problem, approach a moderator or administrator to assist you. 5. All topics are a go here, as long as members can maintain civil discussions and do not make any personal attacks or derogatory comments. Just make sure to give other members a heads up on what the thread contains by aptly describing your title and sub-topic title. 6. Plagiarizing someone else's work is strongly frowned upon and the administrators reserve the right to ban, suspend and warn posters that violate this or any other rule on the board at the administrators own discretion. LOOK & FEEL: 1. We want to make this as 'homely' as possible, and therefore you may choose the skin you like by pulling the drop down menu at the left side of the board (on any thread or the home page) and selecting a skin suitable to your tastes. 2. You can set the post count to show however many posts in one page as you like, to make for easier reading. The default is 20. We would like to note however, that the more posts in a page, the longer it takes to load; and if it deviates from the default, then you 'won't be on the same page' as other members. MEMBERS ONLY AREAS 1. There are several forums that are accessible only to members. We encourage guests to register in order to fully enjoy WYF's full facilities as well as participate in discussions. Examples of members only forums: poetry, lyrics, chit chat, etc. CONCERNING STORIES: 1. All stories must be placed in their proper forums and must fulfill the requirements of the category. 2. Authors MUST select the appropriate rating icon for their story threads. All stories should contain a disclaimer to their pertaining fandom. 3. In the topic title, the title of the story must clearly be placed. Do not use symbols or excessive punctuations unless absolutely necessary. 4. The sub-topic title MUST include pairing (regardless of heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual etc pairings), if any. (Please note that denoting a character with a slash e.g DC/DA means implicating both characters in a relationship) 5. Discussion in story threads should be ideally IN TOPIC. However, authors are given the right to decree how Out Of Topic (OOT) they want their discussions to be. Should the author find the thread spiralling out of control, they may contact a moderator at their own discretion. We ask all members to use common sense and decorum when posting. 6. Certain forums have specific writing guidelines that must be adhered to at the request of the involved fandom. Please make sure to read pinned topics before posting. 7. WYF maintains a good standing in written quality, and therefore urges all writers to check facts, names and places, use spell-check, hire beta readers and to adhere to good grammar when writing. 8. This is not a rule of any kind, but to make your story more accessible, a Table of Contents (in the first post) to each chapter post will help keep your readers from trudging through banter to get to updates. Again, this is just a suggestion. 9. RE: UPDATE THREAD: Authors are not allowed to use large 'book cover' images in the update thread. You may however use a small 200x400 banner and link it to your chapter post. Again, this is to keep the thread uncluttered and easy to load. You are free to post your 'book cover' in your own thread. CONCERNING SIGNATURES AND AVATARS: 1. You are allowed ONE banner (that is no more than 250 pixels long and does not stretch the page) and 6 lines of text. You can choose to not have a banner and instead have 10 lines of text, but if you chose to omit text you are not allowed 2 banners. This is to keep the boards loading quick and clutter free. 2. Please use common sense and propriety when wording your graphics, as well as keeping the images work safe. Remember, there are minors here. FAQ: Q. How do I change my user title? A. You can change your user title by going to My Controls > Edit Profile Information > Custom Member's Title. Please note that it can only be changed after a user has reached 500 posts. Q. How do I become a mod? A. Mods are chosen based on how active a member is in a particular forum, how helpful a member is, and the quality of content submitted by the member on the site. Thank you and have a good time here! Cheers, Admins. |
