Greetings, Admin/Mod team,

I have a few questions that I hope can be addressed:

1. When the permanent forums are set up, what will be segregation criteria be? I.E will it be based on ratings?

2. Will one-shots (stories that are only one chapter long, also known as ficlets or drabbles) be given their own forum to ensure that those stories do not get lost in the sea of longer and more well known stories?

3. There are currently two sub-forums under the Temporary forum, one marked for David and the other open. Does this mean that all kinds of fiction can be posted here, and not just DC fanfics? If so, is it limited to American Idol or is it completely open?

4. Apart from the new Terms of Service, do all the David-Cook.org rules apply here?

5. In case of dispute, problems, etc, who do we contact?

6. While I fully respect the need to leave the names of his family (and friends, I assume) out of our stories, the wording (in the post reminding us not to use character and names by BlueSpringsMom) leaves me slightly confused. Character, you say.

I can further understand the need to remove distinctive characteristics or detailed descriptions, but to completely change the characters of his mother or father or brothers in a 180 degree just for the sake of changing makes it seem a little absurd to me.

In this, I mean, David's RL mother is a supporting, caring and loving individual to all her sons. In my story, do I have to do a 180 on her so that she is completely unrecognizable? I would hope not, or we will all end up with a very tortured David in our stories.

Can someone please clarify?

7. Finally, this is not a question but a mere suggestion: I suggest that each forum have it's own individual "Story Updated" thread, much like the one back in d-c.org, that conveniences readers to check in one place for all their favorite updates.

I'd like to make a quick shout out to all the mods and admins, for despite everything that has happened, you have pulled through for us, despite not having to, despite the backlash... I want to thank you. For everything. Please know that we are supporting all efforts made here and on d-c.org.

I'm in a rush so my reply will be shortened. Right now, because I didn't have much time before to create the rest of the site, the Temporary area is just what is needed for now since everyone has come from the D-C.org site only. Eventually, I will have forums for everything; this site will be a general fiction site and not just on David Cook.

I will think about the "one story" fictions and how to section them.

As far as the family goes, it's fiction so you can include other people, doesn't have to be his direct family. If you can't write a story without his mother or brother, etc...then don't write it. Since you are all creatively writing, it shouldn't be hard to substitute his family for other people...you're writing fiction, not portraying their lives.

For the "Story Updated" things. The only problem this may be is if there are a lot of forums, which there will be eventually, people might complain that the "Story Updated" isn't involved in all the forums. Until the site gets more active, we can hold off on that and then suggest it to me later on where I see that it will come to good use.

This is purely a writing site, correct? There won't be any threads that contain like, David Cook photos or a 'fangirl' thread right?
